Sometimes I need alone time, so I go out to my private office in my shed and close the door to the outside world. It’s my time, alone time where I can sort out the jimble-jamble that clutters my mind.

After the shooting of small school children [20 dead] at Sandy Hook elementary school in Connecticut, the nation mourned their deaths. Our sadden President expressed grief to the children’s families. I can think of the president, the nation , me imagining the following, The kids leave their house. They hop on a bus to go to school, or maybe a parent drives the child to school. They enter the classroom and they are greeted by their teacher. After a hour or so, there is a commotion, they are confused. They hear what sounds like shots at school. Confused and screams erupt, as the gunman opens the door to their class room. They stare at the guy with the gun. It suddenly erupts in a burst of noise. I sit in my office wondering, did the victim see the first bullet coming? What did it feel like as the bullet penetrated the skin? Do they feel it, or does shock set in instantly before the first bullet or the following bullets enter the victim’s body? The President goes on and states that he is appointing V.P. Biden to a special task force to look into the problem and take recommendations. [that what a President does] V.P. Biden in his mission to find out recommendations, invites the NRA to help solve the Problem. I think that is great, the NRA has millions of registered members that are gun owners. To my dismay, The NRA didn’t help, but took to the air waves mocking V.P. Biden and his fact finding group. I thought this is not good, but still held out hope. The day President Obama announced that he was going to hold a press conference to tell the nation his recommendations to help reduce this insane epidemic of “group killings” . The next day the NRA gives the President a imaginary “finger“. They endorse and promote a free app game Practice Range. It was rated at issue time for 4 year olds and up. Some of the targets were little coffins. The president comes out, list several things he is going to ask to be done by Congress, including assault weapons. The President had several children in the back drop than had written the president about doing something for us, the kids. The NRA shoots back, attacking the Presidents kids in the media. I thought long and hard, about what if the NRA would have taken a more active role. I believe the President would still ask for smaller clip, but the assault rife issue would have been lost. Congress had stated weeks ago that a ban on assault rifles bill would not pass Congress. I lean back in my chair, close my eyes and visualize those 20 children bleeding to death, some quickly and some a little slower. Tears in their eyes. The NRA has proven to be an arrogant, self serving beast.

So after three hour in my office I say to you, Mr. NRA, bring it on.
