Those in central Minnesota who harbor animals know the value of a reliable and competent veterinarian, and for the past 10 years, many in the Pierz area have relied on the expertise of Dr. Jamie Litke to service their pets and livestock.
Litke, a 1994 graduate of Onamia High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Minnesota Veterinary School, recently opened his own facility — Litke’s Veterinary Service — located near the southern outskirts of Pierz in the vacated Brandl Motors building.
A perusal of Litke’s headquarters reveals what may be the most up-to-date clinic in the area. “I’ve made a considerable investment in this business hoping to keep up with the demands of modern veterinary needs, “ Litke said.
His clinic includes digital x-ray, dental care for animals, a surgery suite and a large and small animal pharmacy. One feature Litke is most proud of is the on-farm large animal service his clinic provides. “Lots of clinics today emphasize small animal care, but I want people to know that I am willing to service the large animal needs of farmers in our area,” Litke said. “My dad and his family farmed near Harding, so I had many chances to visit and work on Grandpa’s farm. That’s where I first learned animal care.”
Dr. Litke is on call seven days a week, year-round.
