On Saturday, April 13, 2019, the Aitkin Education Foundation (AEF) sponsored the 7th Annual Variety Show at Aitkin High School (AHS) to raise money for the  school’s academic programs.

Noel Bailey, a 1959 graduate of AHS and retired teacher, and Scott Turner, on the AEF board of directors were the “Masters of Ceremony” for the show.

Ten different groups performed various activities, such as vocal, piano and dance performances, notably Lyla Miller, a solo vocalist (class of 2025), and the group “JPACK” (consisting of Gina and Rich Courtemanche, Kathy Hakes-Fastner, Jen Johnson, Pat Perrine and Pat Sharbonda) who performed several songs such as “Our Town” by Iris DeMent and “Never Gonna Let You Down” by Colbie Caillat.

Entrance fees were not charged, but thanks to donations from the audience money was raised for AHS’s concert choir, among other academic purposes.
