Harvest Moon Brew Fest

Bigger and better things are “on tap” for the sixth annual Harvest Moon Brew Fest to be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, in the Downtown Market Square on 3rd St. N.E. in Aitkin,  from 3-6pm.

The event features many of Northern and Central Minnesota’s craft breweries, including locally brewed beers from the Glacial Lakes Brewers, a local home brew club and co-host of this year’s Harvest Moon Brew Fest, along with Block North Brew Pub of Aitkin.

Tickets are available for advance purchase at Block North Brew Pub, Paulbeck’s County Market, Security State Bank, and online at www.GlacialLakesBrewers.org. Tickets include a commemorative logo tasting glass, unlimited two-ounce samples of more than 60 beers, online festival guide, access to educational and interactive demonstrations, and the opportunity to speak with the personalities behind the beers. Designated driver tickets are $10 and include non-alcoholic beverages, keepsake water bottle, and food voucher. Visit the Posh Hair Parlour Designated Driver Booth at the festival. This is a rain or shine outdoor 21+ event.

Many of last year’s breweries will return, including Surly Brewing Company (Minneapolis), Jack Pine Brewery (Baxter), Big Axe Brewing (Nisswa), Cuyuna Brewing Company (Crosby), Roundhouse Brewery (Brainerd), Sapsucker Farms Yellow Belly Hard Cider (Mora), Klockow Brewing (Grand Rapids), Moose Lake Brewing Company (Moose Lake), Beaver Island Brewing Company (St. Cloud) and more. New this year will be members of the Blue Ox Brewers Society from the Brainerd Lakes area pouring their home brews alongside the Glacial Lakes Brewers.

“Last year’s event attracted beer lovers from 157 ZIP codes and from as far away as 200 miles” said the event organizers. “The annual event brings people into Aitkin, allowing us to showcase our wonderful community.”

In addition to the beer, the event will also include a variety of food options from Block North Brew Pub and Paulbeck’s WildCraft Meats. There will be entertainment throughout the festival including live music, games, food, Harvest Moon Brew Fest gear from Shirts Plus of Aitkin and more.

A portion of the net proceeds from the Harvest Moon Brew Fest will go to nonprofit partners including the Aitkin Education Foundation, supporting a variety of enrichment opportunities for students in the Aitkin Public Schools. This year’s sponsors include Block North Brew Pub, Security State Bank, Aitkin Independent Age, Paulbeck’s WildCraft Meats, Culligan Water, Posh Hair Parlour, Shirts Plus of Aitkin and Beartooth Hardware.
