Altius Quartet

The Altius Quartet will be a part of the 2019 Lakes Area Music Festival.

Prelude series returns to Aitkin Opera House, July 13

The Lakes Area Music Festival’s 2019 prelude series will return to the historic Aitkin Opera House on July 13  at 7:30 p.m.

As part of a series of concerts leading up to its annual Lakes Area Music Festival 2019 season, the concert will feature selections of music by legends of the classical music world.

In past years, performances have included Mozart, Schubert, Puccini, Ravel and Copland.

There will be a handful of Minnesota’s top classical artists being showcased during this show.

The annual series brings the mission of the Lakes Area Music Festival throughout the state, engaging new audiences, and energizing current supporters, with a variety of styles of music with casual discussion between works.

It serves as a statewide tour for its inaugural String Quartet Fellowship ensemble and the Altius Quartet.

Admission to the concert is free, but donations are appreciated. Doors will open at 7 p.m. on the second floor of the Butler Building (301 Minnesota Ave. N.).

For more information, visit the official Lakes Area Music Festival website. For more information on the Butler Building, visit its website, or call Sylvia Allen, building owner at 218-678-2441.
