Schroeder after being named Iditarod Rookie of the Year in 2014.

Sled dog racer Nathan Schroeder will be the grand marshal of this year’s Fish House Parade in Aitkin. He and his dogs are expected to lead the way as the parade takes to Aitkin streets Nov. 27. Schroeder is a three-time champion of Duluth’s John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon. He has finished two Iditarod Sled Dog Races in Alaska and is preparing for his third in March of this year. Schroeder finished 17th in his first Iditarod in 2014 and won the “Rookie of the Year” title. He finished 24th in 2015.

The Iditarod is terribly cruel to dogs. FACTS:

Please note that the site doesn't make it a practice to cite its sources or to accurately represent photos or information. A photo posted on the site purporting to show that mushers ride while dogs work is actually a photo from the Ceremonial Start of Iditarod 2013 and the person sitting is the Idita-Rider with Scott Janssen. Scott took a spill on that curve and all that's seen of him in the photo is his boot. While the site gives the source of the photo, the photographer did not give permission for the photo to be used by that site. Read ALL information for a balanced view of sled dog racing.

Anders, not as in previous comment.
