Area young people, ages eight to 17, will have a chance to take to the skies on Monday, Aug. 19, when The Aitkin Flyers, EAA chapter 965, will host Young Eagles flights at the Aitkin Municipal Airport.

The pilots at the event volunteer their time and aircraft so that flights can be provided free of charge. Pilots will explain about their airplanes and allow young people to discover how airplanes work and how safety should be the prime concern of every flight.

Following their flight, each young person will receive a certificate making them an official Young Eagle.

Early registration is encouraged. Registration at the event is between 3-5 p.m. A parent or guardian’s signature is required. Food and refreshments will be available.
