‘Community Canvas’ art show now rescheduled to start September 4

These are just a handful of the “Community Canvases” that have been submitted for the annual Jaques Art Center show, now scheduled for September.

The Jaques Art Center, scheduled to reopen May 19, has rescheduled its “Community Canvas” show to Sept. 4 through Oct. 24.

Canvases are free and some still remain. They can be picked up at the Jaques from 11 a.m. through 4 p.m. at the center, located at 121 2nd St. NW in Aitkin.

Finished canvases can be dropped off through May 5 at the handicapped-access door of the Jaques.

There will be over 300 pieces of art positioned on the walls to “create a wonderful mosaic of creativity,” said the museum’s executive director, Pam Andell.

The Jaques will have an opening reception for the artists and the community on Saturday  Sept. 5, from noon to 3 p.m.

The Current Juried Art Show Exhibit ‘Strokes of Genius’ will stay up through July 4.

Admission remains free.
