Gear Up for Numbers and Nachos was the theme of Rippleside’s Fall Family Fun Night hosted by Rippleside’s Parent Advisory Council and supported by Rippleside’s Parent Teacher Organization. The event was held Oct. 28 with 110 students and their families joining in on the fun. A taco in a bag meal was served before students rotated through three stations.

Engineering was explored in the science room with science teacher, Brenda Besch. The students were able to maneuver gears on the magnetic wall and learned a program called Code.org with media specialist, Jenny Mickelson. Rippleside principal, Andy Dokken, met with parents to talk about the many programs Rippleside offers. Rippleside’s teachers and support staff taught grade level math games to the students.

Comments from participants:

“We loved the engineering room! There was so much to do. The gear wall was cool; the different math games were fun and educational.”

“This was fun! Thanks for doing this. Our family loves going to family fun night!”

“My child learned fun ways to do math.”

“My kids had fun, and we really enjoyed dinner.”

“The parent meeting was great.”
