Bethesda Lutheran Church clean-up

The crew was: Dave & Joanne Stueven and 3 Grandkids – Natalie & Mathew

Stueven and Cole Trotter, Lee and Barb Forrester, Chuck & Elsa Carlson, Dianne Jones and Barbara Macioch.

A crew from Bethesda Lutheran Church of Malmo, gathered at Reddy Creek, mile marker 34 on State Hwy. 18 to see what treasures and trash could be found. Each was given a big yellow state-approved plastic bag – hopefully not to fill. Fortunately, not too much  trash was found – maybe because the kite wind surfers had been enjoying the lake’s breezy conditions earlier this summer and also did some cleaning, as usual.

Found were walleye carcasses, many parts of foam minnow buckets, many pieces of plastic of various sizes and colors, a pair of bright green goggles, a hawk, a water-logged tennis ball in a sock and the usual cigarette butts. Treasures were a fishing lure retrieved from a walleye’s mouth, two fishing poles and reusable dock hardware.
