On Tuesday, Oct. 29, eight Aitkin FFA members (seven chapter officers and one member) got on a charter bus and headed toward Indianapolis, Ind.

“After many days of excitement and fundraising we were finally on our way to National Convention 2019,” said Karena Burgstaler, Aitkin FFA Chapter reporter.

The morning of the first full day the students stopped in Peoria, Ill. at the CAT (Caterpillar Machinery) museum. They learned about CAT and how they operate. The students attended general sessions, workshops of their choice, and the expo filled with learning opportunities.

The 2019 92nd National FFA Convention had 69,944 members attend and Aitkin’s Chapter contributed eight of those members. The expo had over 90 different booths that sponsor the National FFA Organization. One of the Aitkin members  said one of their favorite booths was the Culver’s booth because they gave out free vanilla custard. The students also got the chance to attend an Old Dominion concert and a rodeo. They arrived back in Aitkin late on Saturday, Nov. 2.
