Did you know eight out of 10 adults have a chronic health condition such as hypertension (high blood pressure), arthritis, lung disease, diabetes, depression or anxiety? Managing a chronic condition can improve health and quality of life.

Riverwood Healthcare Center is offering a class called “Living Well with Chronic Conditions” in Aitkin. The class will meet on six Thursdays, from 2-4:30 p.m., Sept. 12, 19 and 26 and Oct. 3, 10 and 17, at the Aitkin hospital, Room G in the Michael Ryan Support Services wing.

Learn about healthy eating, managing pain and emotions, getting good sleep and physical activity, communicating with medical providers, medications and more.

There is a $20 fee for the “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions” workbook. Those who complete all six classes will receive $20 in Aitkin Bucks.

To register for the class series, call Riverwood’s events line at 218-927-5188, email healthyliving@rwhealth.org or visit www.yourjuniper.org and look for classes offered in Aitkin.
