In the land of snow and ice

According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, the area just north of McGregor received 19.2 inches of snow as a result of the storm on Dec. 27, 2018, and Brainerd

measured 12.3 inches. The blizzard resulted in Aitkin Schools canceling scheduled

athletic tournaments that night, and drivers were warned to stay off the roads. Another winter advisory was issued on Jan. 7. Icy road conditions resulted in schools shutting down in Aitkin and McGregor, and a two-hour delayed start in Hill City.
