Gabrielle Trelstad, McGrath, submitted this photo and said, “On April 10, my mom and I had some errands to run, and on our way home we went on a nature drive through the Rice Lake National Wildlife Refuge. When we arrived at the Rice River, we were greeted by this loon basking in the light of the setting sun. We stopped and watched the loon for several minutes as it preened itself and flapped its wings upon the water. It was a quiet moment enjoying the beauty of creation in the midst of what has been a time of great unrest; this moment served as a reminder that even in the midst of chaos, peace can be found.”
