Ada Mae Merrill, 68, McGregor, died after a long illness Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019 at Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth.

She was born April 25, 1951 in Cloquet to Michael Merrill, Sr. and Orletta Saith (Greene) Sharlow.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sam and Ada; parents, Michael and Orletta; stepdad, George; good friend, Marvin; and her aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her son, Carl Boyd, Fairbanks, Alaska; and her daughter, Michale Lewis–Pagh, Spokane, Wash.; two grandchildren, Mikeal and Ashley; great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Michael, George, Carmen, and Orretta; Uncle Dale and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will begin at dusk Friday, Sept. 6, 2019 at the East Lake Community Center in East Lake, McGregor, and will continue until the Tribal Rites Service at 10 a.m., Saturday, at the center. Burial will be at the Rice Lake Refuge Burial Grounds, McGregor.
