Eileen Marie Harrison, 84, Crosby, died Sept. 28, 2019 at her home.
She was born May 21, 1935 in Nordland Township to Edward and Esther (Hasselius) Bodin. She married Richard Harrison Sept. 20, 1952 in Virginia, Minn. In addition to leading many of her own Bible studies and prayer groups, Eileen was also active in Bible Study Fellowship and started MotherWise with Remnant Ministry Center. She served as a Sunday School teacher for many years at the Crosby Assembly of God where she also started a bus ministry. She was a counselor for Lakes Area Pregnancy Support Center and a volunteer chaplain for Crow Wing County where she participated in the women’s jail ministry for many years. She was an early supporter and volunteer for the Brainerd Crisis Line and Referral Service. She was one of the founders of The Fire Escape, a faith-based community outreach in Crosby. Eileen started Remnant Ministry Center’s library and flag ministries. She was a gifted Bible teacher and she hosted numerous missions’ groups and baptisms at her home on Serpent Lake.
Preceding Eileen in death were her parents; one grandson, Calvin Leonard; one brother, Clifford Bodin and one sister, Mabel Clodfelter.
Eileen is survived by her husband, Dick; two sons, Steven (Martha) Harrison, Brainerd and Randy (Starr) Harrison, Maple Grove; one daughter, Deb Harrison, Ironton; one brother, Cecil (Verda) Bodin, Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Molly (Michael) Blowers, Dan (Autumn) Harrison, Brieanna (Michael) Groves, Brandon (Jenna) Harrison, Lee Piirainen, Jordon (Ashton) Harrison and Mariah (Perry) Smith; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019 at the Salem Lutheran Church, Deerwood. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery, Crosby. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift to Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge, Brainerd.
