Joy Anna Jacobson, 89, Aitkin, formerly of Malmo, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019 at Aicota Health Care Center, Aitkin.

She was born April 14, 1930 in Walhalla, N.D. to Charles and Alice (Otto) Carpenter. Joy was united in marriage to Newman L. Jacobson on Feb. 14, 1953 in Anoka. Joy was a member of Malmo Free Church for many years and later, the Deerwood Baptist Church. Joy’s passion was paper cutting scherenschnitte. She also enjoyed wild ricing and spending time with family and friends.

Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Newman; son, Lane Jacobson; her parents and four siblings.

Joy is survived by three siblings: Sally Eden, Alvina Hesner and Tom Carpenter; sister-in-law, Myrtle Graham; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. at Deerwood Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church.
