Kay S. Kunshier, 81, Lake Minnewawa, McGregor, died Oct. 18, 2019 surrounded by family.
Kay was born April 12, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa to Lloyd and Mildred (Lukens) Bohler.
Kay moved to Forest Lake, where she married Glenn Kunshier June 20, 1957. They were married 56 years.
In 1977 they moved to Big Sandy, purchasing the Triangle Bar and owning it until 1979.
Kay worked side by side with her husband Glenn, installing carpeting and ceramic tile around the McGregor area until she was in her late sixties. Kay enjoyed traveling, deer hunting, fly fishing, ice fishing, reading, jigsaw puzzles, playing the penny slots and her Minnesota Vikings.
Kay spent winters in Yuma, Ariz. with her husband Glenn after retirement. Over the last several years Kay spent her winters in Bullhead City, Ariz. and Laughlin, Nev. where she had many friends.
Kay was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, McGregor and the Red Hats of Bullhead City, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn and parents, Lloyd and Mildred.
She is survived by her daughters, Beth (Bobby) Johnson, Tamarack; Donna (Rick) Boyer, Aitkin; grandchildren: Jackie Fredrickson, Cody Henry, Jake (Kylie) Fredrickson and Wyatt Fredrickson; great-granddaughter, Issabelle Fredrickson; brother, Lloyd Bohler; and sister, Joyce Smith.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 16, at Holy Family Catholic Church, McGregor, with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m.
