Riverwood Healthcare Center recently announced the appointment of Lowell Larson to its Governing Board of Directors.
“On behalf of our governing board, I’m pleased to welcome Lowell, an Aitkin area resident whose familiarity with the communities we serve is a great asset,” said Riverwood CEO Todd Sandberg. “He brings a combination of business and health care expertise that will be vital in guiding our organization in the years ahead.”
Prior to retirement, Larson worked for the Benedictine Health System for years, where he managed long-term care services in a variety of roles ranging from quality director to senior vice president of community relations and philanthropy.
Previously, Larson served in management roles for Minnesota Technology, the Minnesota Jaycees, and several boat manufacturing companies.
“I believe every community must provide high-quality health care to those it serves,” Larson said. “I think my management experience in a variety of organizations and my interest in health care will be helpful to Riverwood as it plans for the future and how to further enhance the quality of health services for local residents.”
Larson grew up on a farm in southwestern Minnesota and began vacationing at a cabin on Farm Island Lake south of Aitkin in 1996, where he and his wife, Carole, now live full-time.
As members of First Lutheran Church, they are active in several ministries.
