The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office has issued press releases from North Memorial Health and the Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport:

On Friday, June 28, at approximately 1 a.m., a North Memorial Health helicopter crashed at the Brainerd Airport. Three North Memorial Health crew members were on board. No patients were being transported at the time of the crash. The pilot and the nurse died at the scene. The third crew member was transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have been notified, and the sheriff’s office will fully cooperate with both agencies during their investigation of the incident. First responders, the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, Brainerd Pole and Fire Departments and Baxter Police Department were called to the accident scene

The airport remains operational during this accident and teams from FAA and NTSB will perform investigations.
