The Aitkin Sno-Drifters Snowmobile Club has set a meeting for 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, regarding a proposed snowmobile trail on 340th Lane.

Landowners and club members are invited to meet at the gate where 340th Lane enters Aitkin school property.

For many years the Sno-Drifters have worked to complete a loop around the city of Aitkin. Connecting Hwy. 47 to Hwy. 169 has been the biggest challenge.

A trail being proposed will start at the intersection of Hwys. 47 and 12 on the east side of Aitkin. It will travel on the east side of Hwy. 12 and cross to the west, south of the trailer park. It then goes along the west side of Hwy. 12 to property owned by the school district. It crosses school property on the south and continues toward Hwy. 169. Once it gets onto 340th Lane, the trail will be on the north side and in the ditch if at all possible.
