The Minnesota Department of Transportation is postponing the replacement of the Hwy. 18 box culvert bridge over Morman Creek near Malmo. The project was expected to begin in July 2020; a new construction date for this project has not yet been set.

“MnDOT works to be conscientious of taxpayer dollars and due to the possibility of this project requiring more than what was budgeted, MnDOT is postponing the project at this time as we evaluate any additional cost,” said District 3 Assistant Engineer Jim Hallgren. MnDOT is working closely with its federal and state partners to develop a plan to move the project forward in the future.

The box culvert bridge is in good structural condition and MnDOT will continue to monitor any embankment or sediment movement along the Morman Creek at this location.
