Republican's and the church are turning Christianity into a commodity broker. In reality, it has the power to make something out of nothing and nothing out of something. Today the far right religious leaders and the Republican party are selling the promise of spirit salvation, both religious and politically. The Republican's and Religious Right are selling the promise of eternal salvation. Just a glimpse, Jesus made many proclamation, saying that the rich people needed to divest themselves of their wealth before they could enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Republicans and today's mega-church's preach that God will reward you for every dollar you give to the church, so give a lot. The mega-church pastor who makes $1 million or more per year. He doesn't pay income taxes on the money he bring in, lives in a mansion paid for by the church, drives a luxury cars paid for by the church, rides in jets and helicopters owned by the church, all of them tax free. I sometimes wonder, in this era of marketed religion, where have the skeptics and free-thinkers gone.

Today's new religion, as in the past has not been reluctant to charge for its services. Prayers, masses, blessings, healing, baptisms, funerals, and amulets have been hawked, the new religion is no exception. But today's religious right, frankly they are the “Hound of Hell”. They pursue us to our home, into the nursery and the bedroom. You see, I don’t believe that God blesses your, or anyone’s politics. Government is not something that was instituted or originated by God

I remember In the past, no matter what one’s religious affiliation, there was a general agreement among voters, politicians, and members of the press, that all parties should remove their religious views from consideration on government issues. That is, the so-called “separation of church and state” should apply equally to government officials as to the government itself.

Now that the right-wing Republican zealots are bringing their "biblical principles" to government by outlawing abortion, banning homosexuals and teaching creationism in public schools. I have honestly felt like, we had fallen through a time warp into a Nazi brown-shirt agenda. The new Republican Rights base of Christianity seems to transcend the political order and cannot be subordinated to the political order. This is right out of their play book, Religious Right Legislative Agenda..One way to understand the Religious Right is to look at the kinds of legislation their lawmakers sponsor. In the U.S. Congress and in State legislatures, bills are proposed that are anti-women, anti-labor, and anti-civil rights. Their legislation opposes finance campaign reform; no environmental protection; gun control; social injustice for the poor; substandard public education; teaching evolution; human sexuality control. Their bills show a disregard for the U.S. Constitution, and finally, Democracy itself. Bills coming from the Religious Right favor the wealthy and large corporations. The ultimate political goal is to make this country a pure Religious Right style of a Christian nation. They have started, One such bill, The Ten Commandments defense act,H.R. 2045, in the U.S. House of Representatives. Rep. Robert B. Aderholt, (R-Ala.) author of the bill that said, "The Supreme Court does not always have the final authority over the interpretation of the Constitution." you have been warned, get educated and vote.

thank for the comment Mark, I agree with you on some of your premise, some not, but I decided to give you my views.[sad]

** you said: . You never will be able to truly know what good behavior is.[[ Well I ,may not know what good behavior is completely, but I think that the few that describes it as far as I am concerned is, being decent to others, show respect for others, concerned about others well-being, follow the laws of the land. ]]
**** you said: It is a bad idea to use the Bible falsely to make a point. [[This I agree as the bible has been changed by man several times]]

**** You say that the religious right is the hound of heck [[ Im talking about billy Graham jr, cliff Robertson and man others]]] If believing that the Bible is God's Truth, and committing to live your life according to it qualifies, ***I find it hard to understand how that leads one to be a hound of heck. Now there are many that call themselves Christians, who aren't [[ I agree whole hearty]]]
………….you said: Next point, actually, government was instituted by God and that is in the Bible my friend [[[if you are refering to Romans 13:1, man wrote that in the bible to make the pesants follow the wish’s of the ruling body.]]]

……... you said: but I would love to see a United States full of Christians."Separation of Church and State" does not mean what you think it does, study that further. Abortion, LGBT, creationism, gender, social justice., [[[our founding fathers didn't want the church meddling in states affairs, namely the list you provided ]]]

There is good behavior and bad behavior all over the world. Which party you belong to doesn't define your character at all. Each person chooses what they believe and acts accordingly. Some act well, others not so much. Some categorize groups of people, label them and use whatever means they can find to create division. So, how do we define good and bad behavior? Well here is where it gets interesting. If you go by what the culture says, it is always changing and is different around the globe. You never will be able to truly know what good behavior is. Is it ok to harm someone? Well, yes, but then sometimes no. So how do you know? My answer would be to look in the Bible. That's not everyone's answer, you know what?...I can live with that. Now on to the examples of Christianity. If anyone who claims to be a Christian, rich or poor, leader or not, is saying or doing something that goes against what the Bible says it is simply bad behavior. (If you believe that the Bible is the Word of God) Jesus never said "that the rich people needed to divest themselves of their wealth before they could enter the Kingdom of Heaven". It is a bad idea to use the Bible falsely to make a point. I could explain what you are eluding to but we don't have time here. You also wonder where the "skeptics and free thinkers" have gone? Well, what we need is just the opposite, we need people who are going to truly believe something, who humble themselves to something greater than they are, who will be obedient to the Truth they believe in, and choose to love others, even their enemies. Isn't that radical. Not much free thinking there. You say that the religious right is the hound of heck If believing that the Bible is God's Truth, and committing to live your life according to it qualifies, I find it hard to understand how that leads one to be a hound of heck. Now there are many that call themselves Christians, who aren't, and they're the ones in the news. But it is foolish to judge the many millions of believing Christians by these. "You will be know by your fruits"...see how one lives their live to know what they believe. Next point, actually, government was instituted by God and that is in the Bible my friend. We don't need a Christian government in the United States, but I would love to see a United States full of Christians."Separation of Church and State" does not mean what you think it does, study that further. Abortion, LGBT, creationism, gender, social justice.....once again, I'll take what God says on the issues before what mankind says. All while trying to not judge others and loving them as God loves us. (that's in there too) If we think we have the answers to life...and death for that matter....there are thousands of ideas to choose from, choose wisely for your eternity rests on it. Last comment, we will only know what good behavior is when we have a firm foundation to stand on. We will only be able to stay standing on that rock, when we have a Lord to hold us up.
