How sickening for me to hear the Democrat’s tell the country that “we are in a constitutional crisis”. There is no such thing in my mind as a constitutional crisis. There is constitutional impeachment per Art. 2 section IV, but the constitutional crisis scare mode is hog wash. I believe saying that something is a constitutional crisis, is a little like saying that someone is going through a “nervous breakdown.” Those crises are manufactured in minds, and never meant to avoid impeachment proceedings at all cost. The true crisis is that our elected representatives, who have sworn an oath to uphold the constitution, are violating that oath by showing loyalty to party over constitutional responsibilities. Nancy Pelosi thinks impeachment proceedings should be avoided, she’s doing everything in her power to avoid it. Constitutional crisis carries both cultural and emotional feelings, but not much else.

There’s a better term for what is taking place in America, at this moment, “it is called constitutional rot.” I see Constitutional rot happening when our Congressional and Senate leaders, what ever party, ignoring the underlying principles of the constitution, WE THE PEOPLE of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare. We need to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. [in case you forgot] These are the opening words of the Constitution.

It is my opinion that there are four factors in creating constitutional rot. The first factor is loss of trust, both in government and in one’s fellow citizens, though process when defending a candidate of their choice. The second factor is polarization, which causes members of the public to regard their fellow citizens as enemies rather than members of a common goal or a team member. A third factor is increasing economic inequality, which creates anger and resentment, and leads the public to look for scapegoats and enemies. The fourth factor is policy disasters, which are serious failures in decision-making process by a president or governing body, such as our representatives, which cause the public to lose faith in Americas government. Just to be clear, in my view, constitutional rot will lead government officials to increasing corruption, overreaching, and suppression of basic liberties of the citizens of the United States.

The rot is there when Mitch McConnell and the Senate refusing to act on over 100 bills that Congress has sent to the Senate. The way the senator handled the Merrick Garland nomination. The rot in government for ignoring subpoenas and then suing about being charged with contempt. Atty General Barr is a rot onto himself and EVERY move he makes, He acts like the president’s attorney instead of the peoples attorney. In my mind. The public has become so numb to this type of governmental ROT, their anguish has become, deafening in their silence towards this type of behavior.
