Minneapolis is loud. Big trucks make too much noise. Mopeds do too… they make little *vroom vroom*
I haven’t seen the stars in two whole months
And it ain’t right. Where’d they come from? Where’d they go?
Nope, that’s where it ends. Minneapolis can’t even compare to Aitkin in terms of tree population.
I miss breathing, filling my lungs with fresh tree oxygen.
Don’t get me wrong, Minneapolis is beautiful… beautiful like a freshly-lit Christmas tree.
But Aitkin, Aitkin is a firefly.
Thank you for reading.

Warm up to giving
Hi my name is Manni Ukutegbe, I’m a senior at Aitkin High School and I am doing a project for my civics class. I’m calling it “Warm Up To Giving.” It is a drive for any type of winter clothing. This can include beanies, winter gloves, winter coats, winter boots, etc.
Donations will be accepted at The Journey North Church at the following times: Fridays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and Sundays from 9:30-11 a.m.
Donations will be accepted from now through Dec. 8. If you can’t make it to any of these times, please send an email to Manni.firstname.lastname@example.org, or text to 832-407-4200 and I will come and pick up your donation. Any donation will be accepted and appreciated.
Winter is coming and there are people that don’t have winter clothes to keep them warm. The winter in Minnesota gets horrendously cold. Just last year, it got to -60 degrees here. That’s crazy! Now imagine not having a jacket or not having any kind of warm clothes to wear in -60 degrees. People can help by donating used jackets, winter clothes, and even winter boots. Anything that you can donate will be a big help.
The Journey North is located at 810 Second St. NW, Aitkin.
