DNR Enforcement report

• CO Taylor Hochstein (Hill City) monitored the first round of fish house removal in the southern part of his station. Compliance meeting the deadline was good and Hochstein was pleased that very little litter was left behind. Several natural resource-related phone calls were fielded throughout the week and extra patrols were conducted in high complaint areas.

• CO Amber Ladd (McGregor) worked area lakes and snowmobiles. The mild weather brought several anglers out looking for panfish as well as some folks enjoying the last riding of the season. Anglers were reminded to remove all items from the ice when they leave. Enforcement action was taken for recreational trespass, extra lines, unattended lines, fish house shelter license violations, and speeding.

• CO Bob Mlynar (Aitkin) worked angling activity and checked lakes for shelter removal.

• CO Gregory Verkuilen (Garrison) checked anglers and followed up on ice houses left out after the removal deadline. A public-waters filling case was also investigated.
