DNR Enforcement report

• CO Taylor Hochstein (Hill City) primarily worked ice angling and snowmobile enforcement throughout the week. Hochstein spoke with area snowmobile clubs that are gearing up to groom trails in the near future, but are still waiting for the swamps and wet areas to freeze solid. Assistance was given to other law enforcement agencies with calls for service.

• CO Karl Hadrits (Crosby) reported working ice fishing, snowmobile and cross-country ski activity. Numerous enforcement contacts were made for violations including snowmobile registration and excessive speed, and no vehicle permits in the Cuyuna Country State Recreational Area.

• CO Gregory Verkuilen (Garrison) checked ice angler activity as the ice thickens up. Area conditions are slushy and thickness varies considerably. Verkuilen also issued roadkill tags and assisted with maintenance of division equipment.
