We proudly hosted the Bann’s Bar Tournament Aug. 4, one of the biggest events of our season. First place in the skins flight went to Brett Nelson, David Nelson, Gary Nelson and Aaron Spitzer. First place in the open flight went to Todd Harp, Warren Stenson, John Hedin and Tom Hanson.

Aug. 5, bar league event was a four-person scramble. First place went to Chris and Tiffany Dauplaise and Kris and Carey Alt. Second place went to Dennis and Barb Mitchell, Lloyd Gath and Brett St. Sauver. The longest drive on hole one for men went to David Robb and for women went to Shirley Winegar. Closest to the pin on hole six went to David Robb and the longest putt on hole nine went to Terry Palumbo. Blind draw winners were Al and Gwen Godfrey.

Aug. 8 men’s night event was a four-man event counting the best two net balls of the foursome. First place went to John Turonie, Paul Loberg, Glenn Lane and Norton Sorenson firing a 61. Winning a scorecard playoff for Second place was Chuck Boyd, Josh Wahlin, Greg Maas and Kim Risen carding a 63. Third place went to Brett St. Sauver, Paul Grams, Claude Jacobson and Lloyd Gath also scoring a 63. Blind draw winner sponsored by Mike Wayrynen and Tom Kuppich of McGregor Agency was Doug Hussman. Closest to the pin on hole 11, Doug Hussman. Closest to the pin on hole 15 went to Josh Wahlin and the longest putt on hole 18 went to Greg Maas.

We also hosted a ladies fun night event on Aug. 8. The event was a four-lady nine-hole scramble on Savanna 9. First place went to Kathy Wood, Mary Reynolds, Shirley Winegar and Barb Marquardsen firing a 35. First place net went to Lisa Mueller, Laurie Hamre, Ann Carlson and Nancy Jacobson with a 32.2. The longest drive went to Barb Marquardsen, closest to the pin went to Ann Carlson and the longest putt went to Carolyn Kedrowski.  

TIP OF THE WEEK: MAKE MORE PUTTS

Practice putts you can make. Too many people practice bomb putts from here and there, never making a putt. Practice making putts, build confidence and make more putts.
