Aitkin’s 15U baseball team swept a doubleheader against Detroit Lakes, June 27, at Woock Field.

Landon Janzen pitched seven innings, allowed two runs while scattering five hits, and striking out eight batters in a 9-2 win in game one.

Aitkin scored seven runs in the first inning on base hits by Jackson MacDonald, Cody Trotter, and Jake Anderson. Also reaching base on balls were Carson Kullhem, Janzen, Dayton Hallaway, Zack MacDonald, and Tanner Hills. J. Macdonald and Trotter recorded two hits apiece.

Hallaway and Anderson shared the pitching duties in an 11-2 victory in game two. Kullhem led the offense with three hits, including a pair of doubles, in three official trips to the plate; he also walked and scored three runs. J. MacDonald was 2-2 at the plate with a pair of walks. Anton Kalk had two singles. Janzen, Hallaway, Z. MacDonald, and Hills also had base hits.
