There were three services in McGrath on Memorial Day – at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Holden Cemetery and at Zion Church. Mass was said outdoors in the St. Anthony’s Cemetery. At the Holden Cemetery, there were presentation of colors, gun salute, military honors and taps with Pastor Elliot Malm giving a closing prayer. A reading of the names of veterans buried in the cemetery was done by Dennis Moss, quartermaster of Isle VFW Post 2816. The McGrath VFW held a service in the Zion fellowship hall. Robin Blegen spoke on medals and ribbons, poppies were given to everyone present and a lunch was served.
