Northern lights.jpg

The northern lights danced above Mille Lacs Lake Friday night. This photo was captured at about 11 p.m. on the west side of the lake, just south of Garrison. According to the New York Times, the lights have been visible more often and further south than usual due to a regular 11-year shift in the sun’s magnetic fields.
