Kathio State Park events:

Friday, June 14:

10 a.m. - noon: Fishing Fridays Mornings

Learn all about fishing. Poles, bait and instructors provided. Minnesota residents do not need a fishing license for this activity. In case of heavy winds or thunderstorms, this program will be canceled.

Saturday, June 15:

11 a.m. - 3 p.m.: Turtle Crossing

A talk and slide show about turtles of Kathio State Park followed by a visit from Shellby.

2 - 2:45 p.m.: Kids’ Activity: Tree Detectives

Learn how to use the right “clues” to tell “who’s who” among trees of the forest and take home a small “souvenir” you make yourself.

Sunday, June 16:

10:30 - 11:15 a.m.: The Monarch: A Butterfly Beyond Borders

A nature film about the Monarch’s natural history and migration.

Wednesday, June 19:

10:30 - 11:50 a.m.: Wolf Adventures 

 A family-friendly nature film about wild canines.

Thursday, June 20:

10:30 - 11:15 a.m.: Snakes Alive!

A talk about area snakes followed by a visit from Corny the Snake.

Friday, June 21:

10 a.m. - noon: Fishing Fridays Mornings

All activities meet at the Interpretive Center.

Father Hennepin State Park events:

Sunday, June 16:

10 a.m. - 12 noon.: Father’s Day Fishing 101

Kids grab your dad (or another adult) and take them fishing! Learn all about fishing - identifying species, casting and more. Poles, bait and instructor provided. Minnesota residents do not need fishing license for this activity. In case of heavy rain, strong winds or thunderstorms this program will be canceled. Meet at the Public Boat Access parking lot.
