Saphire Brown

Singing her message

Saphire Brown presented her messages of hope and coping skills in life partially through song to students of Onamia public schools.

Onamia School District 480 provided funding for a recent special program presented to the school’s entire student body.

The program was a one-person show presented by Saphire Brown, who, with the used of music and oration, told her story of being bullied in high school and the mental health issues that followed in her life, with the hopes of educating and inspiring students with messages about anti-bullying, suicide awareness and mental health.

Brown implored students at Onamia schools to “never be ashamed for who you are” and accompanied those sentiments with songs such as “You Are So Beautiful.”
