The general public is invited to what is being billed as “an evening of classical piano music intertwined with personal stories of grace and love, poetry and pictures” featuring pianist Lumilius “Miloy” Canete. The event, which is free of charge, will take place at Holy Cross Church in Onamia at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1.
Miloy, who was born and raised in the Philippines, settled in Arizona where he finished his masters in music and his doctoral courses through generous scholarships from Arizona State University. He has performed in North and South America, Europe and the Philippines. He is currently the organist of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Tempe, Arizona and director of music and liturgy at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Goodyear, Arizona. Following the concert, an ice cream social will commence in the Holy Cross narthex where people can meet and greet the artist.
