For the past 40 years, members of the Onamia Methodist Church have chosen to take one Sunday church service to the outdoors, sometimes calling the event “Church on the Hill” or “Church in the Pines” depending on which parishioner’s property the service was held.

Some of those who volunteered their land for the services over the years included Dennis and Pat Burr, Dick and Mary Jackson and, of late, Kathi and Dennis Hopkins.

This summer the church chose to call their service, “Church in the Park,” taking their event to one of Onamia’s city parks.
