Brian William Jeska, 53, of McGrath died Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at his home.
A family gathering in celebration of Brian’s life has been held. Interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
Brian is survived by his children, daughter Maya of Annapolis, Maryland, and son Matthew of Nashwauk; mother, Kathy Unger of Wahkon; father, Bernie Jeska of South Dakota; sister, Lori Stalker of Wahkon; brothers, Scott of Minneapolis, BJ (Kim) of Onamia and Eric of Aitkin; other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Lorraine Fennern, and Marv and Bertha Hanson; and uncle, Bob Hanson.
Brian was born on Feb. 24, 1966 to Bernie and Kathy Jeska in St. Paul. He moved to the McGrath area with his family when he was a boy. Brian graduated from Isle High School in 1984, and joined the United States Army. He received an honorable discharge and moved back to his hometown community.
Brian worked as a heavy machine operator. He loved his family dearly and his children were so precious to him. He enjoyed being with family and friends, spending time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing were how he liked to spend his time.
