Buford Fredrick Faust died on Saturday, April 13, 2019. He was 84 years old. He passed away peacefully at his home in Onamia, Minnesota, with his wife and family at his side.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on May 18, at 11 a.m. at the Holy Cross Center in Onamia, Minn., with Pastor Joe Boeringa officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the center. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Mille Lacs Health System Hospice Program. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Charene; sons, Buford (Deborah); Anthony (Judy), Kim, Arnie and his fiancé, Mary; daughter, Julie (Greg) Buehler; his son, Luke passed away on January 4, 2011; Buford is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Buford Fredrick Faust was born to Jess and Vetress (Ewing) Faust on July 23, 1934 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He attended school in St. Paul. He married Gloria Mary Edmondson on September 13, 1952, in St. Paul, Minnesota. They resided in St. Paul until 1959, when they moved to Randolph, Minnesota. Together they owned and operated businesses throughout their marriage. They owned a gas station in St. Paul. While living in Randolph, they opened up and ran a gas station and restaurant. They also owned Buf’s Truck Parts. In 1976, they started Viking Auto Salvage in Northfield, Minnesota. In 1982, they moved to the Mille Lacs area. Gloria passed away on March 9, 1991. Buford enjoyed moose hunting, fishing, garage sales, auctions and was a collector of many things. He was an avid Vikings fan. Buford was also known for his storytelling. He later met and married Charene Lynn Vivant on April 5, 1996. Their family was a great source of joy, and they enjoyed spending time with them. They enjoyed a good meal out and spending afternoons watching birds.
