Ozhaawashkogiizhigookwe, Cassandra Rae Beaulieu, 31-year-old resident of Isle, Minnesota, passed away on February 10, 2020 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
A funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. at the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Community Center on the Mille Lacs Reservation. Visitation was on Thursday, Feb. 13. Interment will be in the Woodland Burial Grounds.
Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Onamia.
Cassandra is survived by her father, Gerald (Darlene) Beaulieu; children, Zariyah, Jayson, GeriAuna, Kai; brothers, Greg Wind, Jason Wind, Blaine Beaulieu; sister, Shauna Beaulieu; and many loving aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline Benjamin; grandparents, Georgianna Day, James Beaulieu, Simon Day, Rose and Fred Benjamin, Robert and Caroline Boyd.
Ozhaawashkogiizhigookwe, Cassandra Rae Beaulieu was born on August 23, 1988 in Brainerd, Minn., to Jacqueline Benjamin and Gerald Beaulieu. She attended Nay Ah Shing School and later received her GED. Cassandra enjoyed playing sports, especially basketball and volleyball. She loved being with her children, family, and friends. Cassandra liked to spend her time beading, posting on social media, and going to the casino to play and eat. She will be greatly missed by her family.
