Miskogiizhig, Erik Morley Parsons, 37-year-old resident of Isle, Minnesota, passed away on May 14, 2020, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minn.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Onamia.
Erik is survived by his children, Aubrey Rose and Jackson James Parsons; parents, Vicki Parsons of Onamia, Minn., James Kalk Jr. of Garrison, Minn.; brother, Craig Parsons of Frisco, Texas; sisters, Sarah Parsons of Isle, Minn., Alissa (Tim) Mullan of Bagley, Minn.; nephews, Kameron, Anthony, Chaz, Khelin; niece, Isla; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Erik was preceded in death by his brother, Ian James Kalk; grandparents, Ronald Parsons, Mirriam (Mimi) Honeycutt, Rita and James Kalk, Sr.
Erik Morley Parsons was born on February 28, 1983, in Onamia, Minn. Erik was currently employed as a card dealer at Grand Casino, a job he truly enjoyed. His greatest joy came from his children Jackson and Aubrey. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and partaking in Ojibwe cultural events. Erik was recently inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success through the university. He was an avid reader and history buff. Erik will be remembered for his kind, caring and giving nature. Erik would help anyone and everyone if he could. His last gift was the gift of his organs. Others will be having life for his generous contribution. Erik will be missed by many. Fly high Miskogiizhig (Red Sky).
