She was preceded in death by her father, James Kuehn; grandparents, Felix and Hazel Erickson, and Fred and Mette Kuehn; and many aunts and uncles.

Julie was born in Coon Rapids, Minn., on May 18, 1967, to James and Judy (Erickson) Kuehn. She lived in Coon Rapids for the first few years before moving to Ogilvie with her family in 1970. She attended Ogilvie Schools, graduating in 1985.

She worked at a few different jobs after graduating–Super Valu, FleetGo, Crystal Cabinet Works, Industries Incorporated and Bluewater Yachts. She loved being a bus driver for Ogilvie School, driving from Dec. 13, 1994, until March 31, 2016. She was a very outgoing bus driver, and kids from kindergarten through 12th grade enjoyed riding on “Julie’s bus.” Julie continued to be an important part of the Ogilvie School and was the alumni speaker at the 2017 graduation and 2018 Homecoming at Ogilvie High School.

Julie and her brother, Joel, started Kuehn’s Limousine in 1989. She thoroughly enjoyed being a limo driver and had a lot of fun with everyone she drove around. She loved to travel and went to New York, California, Illinois, Oklahoma, Nevada, Florida, Mexico and a cruise to Alaska. She loved to be on the move! Julie was a member of St. Kathryn’s Catholic Church, Ogilvie. She was united in marriage to Steven Lang on Sept. 30, 2000. Together they made their home in Ogilvie.

She was diagnosed with colon cancer the summer of 2010. Her coworkers (school bus drivers and their families) put on a benefit to help Julie at this time when she needed it. Julie was so thankful she wanted to “give back” to the community so in September of 2012, Julie helped establish “Kick Cancer to the Curb” which helps people with cancer in Kanabec County. Each year she would help plan their fundraising event in August and other events throughout the year. She was excited to be featured in a SPIRE commercial with Dan Stoltz that aired in December 2018. Julie was in the local media (Kanabec County Times and KBEK) a lot for receiving donations for Kick Cancer to the Curb, for awards presented to Kick Cancer to the Curb, to let others know about the upcoming commercial she was in, and, most recently, “Ogilvie giving back to Julie” as Julie and Steve’s garage had collapsed after the last winter and members of the community donated and helped put up a new garage for them. She cherished her family and loved everyone around her. She was very loved. She was an inspiration to many. She lived a meaningful, faith-filled life. She will be dearly missed.
