Leona Lindner, 78, Hillman - obituary

Lindner, Leona Mutch (Goetz), age 78 of Hillman, Minn., formerly of Mound and Waconia, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at Saint Cloud Hospital on July 11, 2019.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday July 18, 2019, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 2385 Commerce Blvd., Mound, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. and luncheon after Mass.

Arrangements are by Huber Funeral & Cremation Services Mound Chapel.

She is survived by her brother, Ronald Goetz; loving children; Sherrie Lindner, Randy (Donna) Lindner; Rory (Marlys) Lindner and their children. She had a deep love for her 14 great-grandchildren and she will be deeply missed by her furry best friend Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lindner; parents, Vincent and Luanna Goetz; and Thomas’s parents, Stanford (Jake) and Norinne Lindner.

She was born in Waconia, Minn., to Vincent and Luanna (Schwirtz) Goetz. She graduated from Waconia High School in 1958. She then attend cosmetology school. Also in 1958, she married Thomas Lindner and had three children with him. She worked many part-time jobs while supporting her husband in the law enforcement field. In 1979, they bought the Channel Inn in Hillman, Minn. She continued to do volunteer work at Waconia VFW, while working multiple jobs. She retired in 2015 and moved permanently up to the lake home in Hillman, Minn. She enjoyed being outdoors, painting, handy work, being with family and the social atmosphere at the casino.
