Amikogaabaw, Marlin Tanner, 23-year-old resident of Breckenridge, Minnesota, passed away on September 4, 2019, at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, N.D.
A funeral ceremony was held on Sunday, Sept.8, at the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Community Center on the Mille Lacs Reservation with Lee Staples officiating. Interment was in the Woodland Burial Grounds. Visitation was on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Arrangements were with the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Onamia.
Marlin is survived by his mother, Lisa Tanner; biological mother, DeVonne DeMarrias; fiancé, Edith LaBelle; five sons; and one daughter; brothers, Derek, John, Aaron, and Collin; sisters, Deanna, Adelle, Katherine, Evelyn, Elise, and Kimimila; along with many loving aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.
Marlin was preceded in death by his father, Marlin; brother, Caleb; and his grandparents.
Amikogaabaw, Marlin Isaac Tanner was born on Sept. 29, 1995. He had an adventurous spirit along with a very giving personality. Marlin enjoyed cooking, eating, watching movies and listening to his favorite music. He liked to spend his time with family and friends, shopping, and playing Call of Duty. He will be greatly missed by all.
