Norman “Norm” Robert Swenson, age 79, of Custer, S.D., formerly of Isle, passed away July 30, 2019, after a brief illness.
A celebration of Norm’s Life will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, from 3-5 p.m. at the Isle Municipal Liquor Store.
Norm is survived by his wife Paula, of Custer; daughters, Julie Morin of St. Francis, Minn., Deb (Bill) Gustafson of Custer, S.D., Tracy (John) Hoffman of St. Francis, Minn., Michelle (Ben) Skogquist of Princeton, Minn.; sister, Helen Fladebo of Mora, Minn.; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Norm was preceded in death by his father, Henry; mother, Belle; sister, Alice; brother, John; brother, Sievert; brother, Willard; and sister Merle.
Norm was born at home in Isle on April 19, 1940, to Henry and Belle Swenson. He owned the Standard Oil home delivery for 15 years and in 1982 moved to Alaska and lived there for 25 years before retiring and moving to Custer. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed a good conversation. Hhe loved to talk with people and would definitely leave an impression.
