Sandra “Sandy” Jean Tipp, of rural Mora, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 9, 2019, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
A memorial service celebrating Sandy’s beautiful life was held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Isle on Saturday, June 15, with Pastor Mark Maunula officiating. Sandy is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob”; three sons, Brandon Tipp of Hibbing, Troy Tipp of Aitkin and Eric Tipp of Aitkin; daughter, Angie Tipp of Mora; five precious grandchildren, Brooke, Teegan, Alexander, Ava an Tyler; siblings, Joan (Ken) Soles, Linda (Gene) Brunk, Rose Collin, Pamela (Kevin) Johannes and Roy (Joy) Collin; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and numerous other family members.
Sandy was born on March 9, 1952, in Puyallup, Washington, to Ed and Irene (Holland) Collin. She resided in Day and graduated from Braham High School. She married Robert Tipp on June 29, 1974. Together they resided at rural Mora.
Sandy was an avid gardener, loved flowers, cooking, baking, traveling and the outdoors. She retired from Ogilvie Public Schools in May of 2009, where she had worked for 34 years. She and her husband wintered at their home in Florida for the past 10 years.
Sandy was a kind and gentle spirit who loved everyone deeply. She was loved by many and always thought of others before herself. She loved her Lord and had a deep, abiding faith. Her legacy of God’s pure love to everyone will carry on in all of our hearts forever.
