Ogimaabinesikwe, Sheila Day, 52-year-old resident of Cloquet, Minnesota, passed away on August 22, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota.
A funeral ceremony was held on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Community Center with Nazhike officiating. Interment was in the Vineland Burial Grounds.
Arrangements were with the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Onamia.
Ogimaabinesikwe is survived by her mother, Delsie Day; father of their children, Harold Diver Jr.; sons, Jorden Diver, Dereck Diver; daughters, Chalsea Diver, Danelle Diver; Shabiaish stepchildren, Roy Jr., Gloria, DJ, Daphne, John, Marco, and Delbert Jr.; 13 grandchildren; brother, Jereck (Raenelle) Weyaus; sisters, Caryn (Keith King Sr.) Day, Shelly Day, Denise Day, Robyn Blue, Brooke Blue; and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Day; grandparents, Mary and Fred Day, Sr., Ole and Jennie Weyaus; and many aunts and uncles.
Ogimaabinesikwe, Sheila Day was born on August 15, 1968, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Howard and Delsie (Weyaus) Day. She enjoyed playing keno and coloring with gel pens. But most of all, Sheila liked to spend her time with family.
