Nazhikewigaabawiikwe, Tina Marie Anderson, 44-year-old resident of Onamia, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 in Onamia, Minn.
A funeral ceremony was held on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Community Center on the Mille Lacs Reservation with Lee Staples officiating. Interment was in the Vineland Burial Grounds. Visitation was on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Community Center on the Mille Lacs Reservation.
Arrangements were with the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Onamia.
Nazhikewigaabawiikwe, Tina Marie Anderson, is survived by her son, Jordan Anderson; daughters, Destanie Anderson, Shyla Lussier; grandchildren, Caden, Carter, Mayleena, and Jaden; mothers, Gina Anderson, Mitzi Davis; brothers, William Bigbear Jr., Tristan Davis, Sahen Davis; sisters, Yolanda Tucker, Cariena Tucker, Elaine Tucker, Kirstie Davis, Jessica Tucker; nephews, Dallas Anderson Jr., Loyn, Davis, and Login Deyhle; niece, Mercedes Deyhle; uncle, Joe BigBear; grandma, Frances Davis; and many loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, William BigBear Sr.; grandparents, Marge and Merlin Anderson, Rose Weaver; fiancé, Kenneth Mitchell Sr.; brother, Dallas Anderson Sr., Winston Davis; sister, Jody Tucker; great-grandparents, Henry and Annie Davis; great-uncle, Joe Anderson; special nephew, Shane Boyd; cousin, Leslie Davis; and many loving relatives.
Tina was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on July 23,1975, to Gina Anderson. Later that year they moved back to the reservation where Tina grew up and graduated from Nay-Ah-Shing in 1993. She worked at various places on the reservation. She was currently working at the Grand Casino Buffet, which she loved. Tina enjoyed cooking, especially fry bread, getting manicures, taking selfies, and being with her children and grandbabies who she loved very much. She was Mide’ and Ceremonial Drum. Tina will be greatly missed by all.
