Wayne R. Simpson, age 66, passed away peacefully on February 17th, 2019, at CentraCare hospital in St. Cloud.
He was born August 19th, 1952, in Clarkfield, MN, to Dewayne and Eunice (Halvorson) Simpson. When he was child, the family moved to Minneapolis, where he graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1971.
Shortly after his high school graduation, he joined the Navy. After his military service, he went to work for Sears Roebuck as a service technician. He worked for Sears for over 30 years until his retirement in 2007.
He married Cynthia Larson on May 8th, 1976, and together, they had three children. Wayne enjoyed hunting and fishing, Twins baseball, and Vikings football, even though they let him down every year.
After growing up spending his summers on Mille Lacs Lake, he chose to move there permanently after retirement. He spent his last years in Isle, MN with his friend, Patti Knight. Wayne is survived by three children; Amy (Chris) Rasmussen, Aaron (Nicky) Simpson, and Sean (Mandi) Simpson; sister Paula (Tony) Thompson, four grandchildren; Dylan, Adalynne, Chloe and Caden and many relatives.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, stepmother Blanche (Lynne) Simpson and nephew Ryan Thompson.
