An Onamia man, Bruce Alan Anderson, Jr., 36, is being charged for acts that occurred on or about Aug. 5.
According to the complaint:
Mille Lacs County law enforcement was dispatched to Whistle Road in Isle regarding an assault. When law enforcement arrived, a deputy met with the victim who had blood on her lips and marks on her neck, arms, and legs that appeared to be fresh bruising.
The victim said that she and Anderson had argued and Anderson began to be verbally abusive. Later she stated that they began arguing again and reported that Anderson threw her down and held her down by her hair and arms. The victim left and returned home. According to the complaint, the victim went to sleep and awoke to Anderson kneeling on the bed over her yelling. She stated Anderson grabbed her by the hair, pulling some out of her head, then struck her in the face while holding her on the bed causing her to bite her lip and split it open.
A deputy present observed marks on the victim’s arms consistent with being grabbed forcefully in the bicep area, along with a large one-inch long cut inside the victim’s mouth that was swollen and had been bleeding.
If convicted, Anderson faces a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. Anderson was convicted of gross misdemeanor domestic assault in 2016 and misdemeanor fifth-degree assault in 2015.
