Mille Lacs County Deputy Kyle Burton has been promoted to sergeant to fill the vacancy left by retiring sergeant Richard Dukowitz.
“I first want to thank our outgoing patrol sergeant Richard Dukowitz for his years of service and dedication as a patrol sergeant to the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office,” Mille Lacs County Sheriff Don Lorge said. “I want to wish him well in his retirement. With that said I want to congratulate deputy Kyle Burton for his promotion to fill that vacancy.”
Burton has served the Mille Lacs County community as a deputy since Jan. 31, 2005. During his time on the job he has served as one of the canine units for the sheriff’s office earning many awards and accommodations. Lorge said he was pleased to have had several excellent candidates who posted for the position. “It makes me proud to know that we have these dedicated men and woman who are willing to step up to the plate and serve their community and do their part to keep things moving forward,” he added.
Thanks to all employees
Lorge gave kudos to all of the staff/employees working in all divisions of the sheriff’s office. “I want to personally say thank you to all of our employees including the sheriff’s office, court division, jail, search and rescue and reserves. We have a great group of men and women that continue to serve our communities,” Lorge said. “I look forward to the continued support and dedication from each and every one of them.”
