Wednesday, July 31:

10:30 - 11:15 a.m.: Two Little Owls

A talk about Minnesota’s owl species and the characteristics that make them great hunters followed by the nature film Two Little Owls.

Thursday, August 1:

10:30 - 11:15 a.m.: Snakes Alive!

A talk about area snakes followed by a visit from our friend Corny the Snake.

Friday, August 2:

10 a.m. - noon: Fishing Fridays

Let’s go fishing! Learn all about fishing – identifying species, casting and more. Poles, bait and instructors provided. Minnesota residents do not need a fishing license for this activity.

Saturday, August 3:

10:30 - 11:30 a.m.: Camping at Kathio… 1,500 B.C.

Step back in time as we look at artifacts and take a short walk to locations where archaeologists found evidence of a village from the 1600s and a “campsite” dating to over 3,000 years ago.

2 - 4:45 p.m.: Kids’ Activity: Wildlife BINGO

Learn about area wildlife whi­­­le trying to get a Bingo to win a cool prize.

Sunday, August 4:

10:30 - 11:05 a.m.: Wolf Adventures

A talk about the natural history of wolves followed by a film.

Wednesday, August 7:

10:30 - 11:05 a.m.: Wolf Adventures

A talk about the natural history of wolves followed by a film.

Thursday, August 8:

10:30 - 11:15 a.m.: Lore of the Loon

A talk about the natural history and mysterious calls of Minnesota’s State Bird followed by a film.

All activities meet at the Interpretive Center.

2 - 3:30 p.m.: Nature Table: Snakes Alive!

Meet Corny the snake and visit with a naturalist to explore the natural history and behavior of snakes found in the Mille Lacs area. Look for the Naturalist Table in the Beach Area. In case of rain this program will be canceled.
